Balanced Life
Keith Mitchell is a former linebacker for the New Orleans Saints NFL football team. His football career ended with injuries that left him temporarily paralyzed from the neck down for a period of 6 months. His yoga journey started with meditation to help him adjust to the reality of his injuries in order to eventually heal his physical body. Once he was able to start a physical practice (asana) he began to slowly heal and build back his muscle mass, strength, and range of motion in his body. This image was from the second photoshoot with did together and I was amazed at how well his practice has improved from the first shoot. This pose is called Boat pose and is considered an advance variation of the posture that strengthens the abdominal muscles and hip flexors while also stretching the spine and hamstrings.
